June 1998 -: Research Fellow, Digital Archiving and the Applied Arts, University of the West of England and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London
Duties include:
· Archiving the National Electronic and Video Archive of the Crafts (NEVAC).
· Completing a PhD, 'The craft potter in late twentieth century Britain: a demographic
and historical study of functional potters and the communities/organisations
within which they operate'. ?
· Digitising NEVAC video and audio in order to have a complete digital copy
of the archive. The digital files are then comprehensively catalogued. ?
· Organising the publication of a box-set of 50 CD-ROMs of videos from the archive.

· Publishing articles relating to my work with NEVAC and the Victoria and Albert
Museum.
· Co-ordinating the setting up of a complex Informix database to allow digitised
video files to be accessed remotely via the world-wide-web.

Teaching specialisms & current teaching:
I am a module leader on the MA, Ceramics: Making and Archiving run by Michael
Hughes. My specialism is in ceramics history, particularly twentieth century
studio ceramics. I have also lectured in the past to museum audiences, on eighteenth
century portraiture and the art of the Venetian renaissance.
Publications:
A box-set of 50 CD-ROMs of videos from the National Electronic and Video Archive
of the Crafts. I have written and edited a 32 page catalogue of the CD-ROM publication
and the set is now available for sale. As each CD-ROM has an ISBN number, they
are also available individually.
